During an investigation, the Traveler uses Tartaglia's Vision to learn he has been fighting the All-Devouring Narwhal in the Primordial Sea for some time. The monster attacks the Opera Epiclese (Fontaine's courthouse), leading Tartaglia to work with Neuvillette to drive it back into the Primordial Sea. Later, the Traveler and Neuvillette enter the sea to fight the creature until Skirk arrives and transfers the Narwhal away, leaving Tartaglia behind in the Primordial Sea. He is later rescued by the Traveler and Neuvillette. The Primordial Sea is not a prison for Nameless, a source of power for the Antimatter Legion, or a metaphysical void erasing existence.

In Their Own Story

In Fontaine, Tartaglia is accused of being the mastermind behind women's disappearances. Although cleared by the Traveler and investigator Navia, he is found guilty and sent to the Fortress of Meropide. Arlecchino uses this situation to pressure Furina and Neuvillette, sending the Traveler to investigate using false charges. During the investigation in the Fortress, the Traveler utilizes Tartaglia's Vision and discovers that Tartaglia has been fighting the All-Devouring Narwhal in the Primordial Sea for quite some time. The monster eventually attacks the Opera Epiclese. Tartaglia collaborates with Neuvillette to push the beast back into the sea. The Traveler and Neuvillette then enter the Primordial Sea to battle it. Finally, Skirk arrives on the scene and transfers both the Narwhal and Tartaglia away from the location.
