Jarilo-VI

A frozen world where humanity clings to warmth against the encroaching eternal winter.

Jarilo-VI is an independent frozen world, not under the Interastral Peace Corporation's jurisdiction, currently shrouded in an eternal winter caused by the Stellaron's energy leaking and triggering the 'Eternal Freeze,' after which the Architects sealed the Stellaron to contain the disaster. Once a thriving hub for mining and industry, the planet was devastated by the catastrophic 'Eternal Freeze,' forcing humanity to retreat into underground shelters and rely on geothermal vents for survival. The planet serves as a critical narrative stage where the Astral Express crew first encounters the complexities of political strife between the ruling Architects of Belobog, the exiled Wildfire resistance, and the ancient, slumbering threat beneath the ice. It is here that the Trailblazer learns of the Stellaron's influence on the world's fate.

Lore & Background

The history of Jarilo-VI is defined by a tragic cycle of technological hubris and cosmic punishment. Centuries ago, the planet was a beacon of progress, but the Stellaron's energy leaked and triggered the 'Eternal Freeze,' its influence creating the unyielding winter. This event froze the surface, forcing the population to abandon their cities above ground and migrate into the deep caverns of Belobog. The society that emerged is divided between those who maintain the status quo under the Architects and the exiled Wildfire resistance, whose stated goal includes reclaiming the surface and ending the eternal winter, as seen in Seele's dialogue and the faction's broader narrative. Beneath the ice lies a secret history involving the 'Aeon' known as the Preservation, whose influence is channeled through the Architects' faith and the Qlipoth Fort, but the planet's defenses (like the Barrier) are technological constructs maintained by the Architects, not a direct lingering influence of the Aeon. The ancient machine Svarog, a specific individual robot and guardian of the Underworld, commands a specific group of robots, but the Fragmentum is a separate corrupted zone with its own entities, not synonymous with Svarog's domain. As the Astral Express arrives, they find a world on the brink of collapse, where the delicate balance between the warm underground and the frozen surface is threatened by the awakening of the Stellaron's true power.

In Their Own Story

The wind howls through the cracked ice of the Overworld, carrying with it the scent of ancient snow and forgotten metal. Bronya stands atop a crumbling watchtower, her breath misting in the air as she gazes down at the glowing city of Belobog nestled deep within the caverns. Below, the warm lights flicker like distant stars, a stark contrast to the endless white void surrounding them. She thinks of her father, the General, and the weight of his legacy on her shoulders. The silence is broken only by the rhythmic clanking of Svarog's footsteps as he patrols the perimeter, a silent guardian against the encroaching cold.

Reader's Guide

The Overworld presents a desolate, icy wasteland dominated by the remnants of ancient machinery and frozen ruins. This area is controlled by the Golden Hour faction, who utilize scavenged tech to survive the harsh conditions. Key landmarks include the 'Crimson Snow' valley and the 'Frozen Lake,' where players must navigate treacherous terrain to reach the entrance to Belobog. In contrast, the Underworld of Belobog is a vibrant, steampunk-inspired city built within massive geothermal caverns. The House of the Hearth rules here, maintaining order through strict laws and advanced technology. Players explore bustling marketplaces, industrial districts, and the grand halls of the 'House of the Hearth' headquarters. The environment reflects the planet's crisis: the surface is a graveyard of a lost civilization, while the underground is a fragile sanctuary struggling to maintain its warmth against the encroaching cold.
